CP - I'd be a cash money buyer at $29k.

Then I could use the remaining $5,500 for all the freakin' maintenance that thing will need over the next 30k miles.

This guy usually lists fairly high prices on line, then negotiates down quite a ways.

OMG! NP all the way! Those are so friggin rare the pricedidn't really mean a while lot. And the best part is that it's the last year of the E55! That means most of its issues were sorted in production. Shouldn't have any electrical issues for quite some time, if at all. The engine may need valve cover gaskets but you could easily do that yourself on a Saturday. Without seeing it the only maintenance issues I can see in its immediate future are trans service, brake fluid, oil changes, and maybe a battery (this isn't a BMW so you can do that yourself too).

In that case, nice price! Throw some E63 wheels on it, and enjoy your super-wagon!

I think the vehicle is NP all day.

I wonder to what extent the 5.5 "Kompressor" is more robust (dependable) than the 6.3?

Why do I ask...

Something tells me that the E55 wagon —which from what I've read has very similar performance to the E63, dovetailing with the E55's extra torque— is a better choice.

I don't know if the 6.3 was phased out because of mpg or was it anything else...? I have no idea. I could look it up, right?
